What is this all about?
In essence, this is about pinpointing who is the most intelligent and best-looking amongst Monty’s mates. Just kidding! Really, this is just a fun, social competition between friends. It’s just like your typical Melbourne cup sweep, with the event backdrop being the much much more spectacular Rugby World Cup 2023.
Each player pays an AUD$10 entry fee which forms the total prize pool (NZD$11 for my mates across the ditch – no discrimination, purely currency parity!). The winner and runners-up will win their fair proportionate share of the prize pot money.
How does it work?
Each player will answer and submit their best predictions/guesses to a set of 12 absolutely magnifique and carefully considered questions, such as who will win and who will make it to the semi- and quarter-finals etc., and then I’ll email you back with the next step to register.
Being a probability enthusiast (I probably shouldn’t publicly admit this should I?!), I have very carefully constructed the questions, and scored and weighted the points (see the Rulebook for more info). Once the competition starts I will publish a leaderboard on this page so you can track your placing and it is all transparent. At the conclusion of the tournament, the prize pot will be equitably divided between the winner, runner-up and second runner-up, of course, in order of who scores the most points.
